Evacuations Ordered as Fast-Moving Wildfire Sweeps Through Southern California
A rapidly growing wildfire in Southern California has forced evacuation orders and warnings as strong winds fuel its spread near Moreno Valley,
located about 103 km east of Los Angeles.

The blaze, named the Springs Fire, broke out around 11 a.m. on April 4, 2026, and expanded to approximately 2.34 square kilometres within just a few hours,
according to fire officials. The fire is burning in a recreational area in Riverside County, with its cause still under investigation.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of households affected by evacuation orders or warnings.
Officials from Cal Fire said windy conditions are making firefighting efforts more challenging.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the region, including San Bernardino and Riverside County valleys, warning of gusts reaching up to 50 mph (80 km/h). The advisory cautioned that strong winds could bring down tree limbs and cause localized power outages.

Emergency crews remain on alert as they work to contain the fire, with officials urging residents to follow evacuation instructions and stay updated on developments.
