Jhajjar. Haryana Police achieved a major breakthrough in the high-profile Vijay Saini murder case after a wanted accused was killed in an encounter with the Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday evening.
According to police, the encounter took place near Dujana canal when STF personnel acted on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of wanted suspects in the area. As officers approached the location, the accused allegedly opened fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
During the encounter, Inderpal, a resident of Kasrati village and a close associate of the main accused Sanjay Birdhana, was shot and killed. He had been absconding since the murder and was on the police radar for several days.
STF Inspector Rakesh was also hit by a bullet during the operation. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Jhajjar, where doctors confirmed that he is out of danger and receiving treatment.
Police Commissioner Dr. Rajshree visited the hospital and reviewed the situation with senior officers. Authorities stated that the operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs received over the past few days.
Investigators had earlier detained several suspects connected to the case, including Inderpal's girlfriend, which reportedly helped police gather crucial leads.
The Vijay Saini murder case had shocked the region after Saini was shot dead in agricultural fields near Dujana village. Following the killing, the accused had gone into hiding, prompting an extensive manhunt.
Police officials said efforts are continuing to trace and arrest the remaining suspects linked to the case.
