Nalanda/Rajgir: A shocking case of mob violence has emerged from Bihar’s Nalanda district,
where two youths were allegedly beaten by an angry crowd on suspicion of theft and later died during treatment.
The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Pintu Paswan and 18-year-old Shravan Paswan, residents of Ganjpar under Deepnagar police station limits.
According to reports, the incident took place near Jhunkiya Baba Temple in Rajgir on Sunday night. Local residents reportedly detained the two youths over suspicion of theft.
Soon, a large crowd gathered at the spot and allegedly assaulted them severely.
After receiving information, Rajgir police reached the scene, rescued the injured youths from the mob, and rushed them to a hospital.
Due to their critical condition, both were referred to PMCH Patna, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The incident has created tension in the area. Police have started an investigation and are identifying those involved in the assault.
The case has once again raised concerns over mob lynching and taking the law into one's own hands.
