Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, a significant diplomatic conversation took place between Qatar and India.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held a phone call with India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar.
According to a statement released by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the call was initiated by the Indian side.
During the conversation, both leaders reviewed the recent developments related to rising military tensions in the region and expressed concern over their serious implications for regional and international security and stability.
The two sides emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful means and highlighted the need to ensure the free and secure movement of maritime vessels, which is crucial for global trade and energy supply.
Qatar also stressed the necessity of preventing what it described as “unjustified attacks” by Iran on regional countries.
Concerns were raised over the targeting of critical infrastructure, particularly those related to water, food, and energy resources.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of returning to the negotiating table and reaffirmed that dialogue remains the most effective path toward maintaining peace and stability in the region.
