Kuwait Reports Tanker Hit in Iran-Linked Attack at Dubai Port; No Crew Injuries
A major oil tanker owned by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation was targeted in what officials described as an Iranian attack while anchored at Dubai port
in the United Arab Emirates, according to the state news agency KUNA.

The vessel, identified as the “Al Salmi,” was fully loaded with crude oil at the time of the incident.
The attack caused a fire onboard and raised concerns over a potential oil spill in nearby waters.
Authorities said an assessment of the damage is currently underway.

Kuwait’s military also reported that its air defence systems were actively responding to what it described as
“hostile missile and drone attacks,” indicating a broader escalation in regional tensions.

Later, officials from Dubai confirmed that the fire on the tanker had been successfully extinguished.
In a statement, the Dubai Media Office said response teams had contained the situation and were continuing to monitor conditions while taking necessary precautionary measures.

The incident adds to rising instability in the region, with concerns over maritime security and energy infrastructure coming into sharper focus.
